Contest entries have been submitted and now it is time to focus on the 62nd annual ONPA educational seminar at The Columbus Dispatch on April 20. The event will follow last year’s format and is free to attend for ONPA members in good standing. Anyone wishing to become a member can do so at the door when they arrive.
Those attending will hear from a nationally recognized panel of speakers. Speakers this year include: Liz Baylen from the LosAngeles Times, John Sale, AME/Visual at The Commercial Appeal in Memphis, TN, former NPPA POY Scott Strazzante from the Chicago Tribune and three-time NPPA Television Photographer of the Year Darren Durlach, now working at the Boston Globe.
Saturday’s program will open a 9 a.m. with a presentation by Darren Durlach followed by Scott Strazzante at 10:45 a.m. The annual business meeting will take place over lunch followed by Liz Baylen at 1:45 p.m. and John Sale at 3:15 p.m.
Judging of the still contest will begin late Thursday evening and continue through the day on Friday. As in past years the Television and Online Photojournalism contest entries have been sent out for judging with results expected to be in hand before the event.
