Kyle Robertson from The Columbus Dispatch has won his fifth ONPA Clip Photographer of the Year title joining Jim Witmer as the only photographers to do so.
Robertson’s title is his fourth consecutive and he is the first to accomplish that distinction. Robertson’s worst finish since 2011 has been second place.
Adam Cairns from The Dispatch placed second in the competition and Jeremy Wadsworth from The Blade finished the year strong with seven wins in December two leapfrog two people to attain his third place finish.
Sports was a predominate theme in Robertson’s 44 clip wins during the year. 26 of those wins were in a sports category, or a portrait or story of a sports subject.
The Columbus Dispatch had five photographers in the final top ten standings.
