This issue of who owns the rights to visual depictions from high school sporting events has reared its ugly head again. This is round two for the issue in Wisconsin and it pits the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) against Gannett, publisher of the Post-Crescent in Appleton, Wisconsin.
The battle was waged recently in Illinois with the parties agreeing to a settlement, which was followed up by the state legislature there passing a law giving the media access to high school sporting events.
