ONPA is excited to announce our panel of judges/speakers for this year’s convention, April 17-19, at Kent State University.
Joining us this year will be: Carolyn Kaster – an Associated Press staff photographer based in Washington, D.C. Kaster’s photo of vice president Joe Biden in an Seaman, Ohio diner with a female biker went viral when viewers thought the biker was sitting on Biden’s lap. That was not the case but the image was a newsmaker nonetheless and won best campaign image in the 2012 Pictures of the Year International contest and the 2012 Atlanta Photojournalism seminar.
Corey Perrine, Naples Daily News staff photographer was the runner-up Small Market Photographer of the Year in the 2014 Best of Photojournalism contest. In 2013 Perrine was NPPA Region 6 POY and the Sportshooter.com POY runner-up.
Kevin Martin, Associated Press photo editor based in New York City and director of The Kalish Visual Editing Workshop. Martin was visuals editor at the Knoxville News Sentinel.
We are also working with Canon to bring the one and only Gregory Heisler to speak as well. Heisler’s portraits have graced the cover of Time and other national news magazines for many years.
The weekend’s schedule will be shared as soon as plans are finalized.
