The annual ONPA educational seminar and still contest picture judging returns to The Columbus Dispatch, April 12-14. The event will follow last year’s format and is free to attend for ONPA members in good standing. Anyone wishing to become a member can do so at the door when they arrive.

Judging of the still contest will begin late Thursday afternoon and continue through the day on Friday. As in past years the Television and Online Photojournalism contest entries have been sent out for judging with results expected to be in hand before the event.

The educational seminar and business meeting taking place on Saturday. Speaking at this year’s seminar will be the 2012 NPPA Ernie Crisp Television News Photographer of the Year Nathan Thompson from WTVF-TV, Nashville, TN. Thompson will be joined by still contest judges Bill Luster, Steve Mellon and Sue Morrow.

Saturday’s Schedule:
9:00 a.m. – Nathan Thompson, WTVF-TV, Nashville, TN
(with an additional breakout session workshop with Nathan at 10:30am)
10:30 a.m. – Sue Morrow, current director of The Kalish Workshop
Noon to 1:30pm ONPA Annual Meeting and Lunch (on your own or pizza if you attend the meeting)
1:30 p.m. – Steve Mellon, photographer and multimedia producer, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
3:00 p.m. – Bill Luster, retired photojournalist, The Louisville Courier-Journal
