Matt Maupin, April 26, 2008 during the changing of the guard at the Union Township Civic Center in Union Township. Maupin was part of the U.S. Army’s 724th Transportation Company and a graduate of Glen Este High School. Maupin arrived in Kuwait on Feb. 20, 2004. He was captured by Iraqi insurgents in Baghdad on April 9, 2004. The family was told his remains had been found on March 30th.

There were several visitors to the site, mostly people who drove by in their car. Michel Veillette is charged with the murder of his wife and four children after he and his wife's body were found with stab wounds following a house fire Friday evening. He was charged with starting the fire to cover up the murders. Michel later hung himself in his jail cell in the Warren County Correctional Facility while he awaited the completion of his trial.
