Entries are now being accepted for the annual ONPA still/online photojournalism contest. Rules are available to download here.

The deadline for entries of both contests is Wednesday, February 29. Still contest entries will be judged during the annual convention April 12 – 14 at The Columbus Dispatch. Online entries will be judged remotely prior to the convention.

The are several changes to the still contest this year. The first being the addition of a Sports Portfolio category. Sports portfolios must contain a sports action picture, a sports feature picture, and a sports picture story. Sports portfolios are limited to 15 entries (a picture story counts as one entry) and a total of 30 images.

The other change relates to circulation based categories. The breakdown for Photographer of the Year, Staff of the Year, Picture Usage and Spot News will now be based on 80,000, that number being based on Sunday circulation or highest circulation day of the week.

Their are two changes in the Online Photojournalism contest. A Best Team Video category has been added to the contest. The separate classifications in the Audio Slideshow category have been eliminated and news, sports and feature content will be judged together.

Those with questions concerning either of the contests should contact still contest chairman, David Polcyn, online contest chairman, Jonathan Quilter, or ONPA board chairman, Karl Kuntz.
