Phil Masturzo and Ed Suba Jr from the Akron Beacon Journal and Kent State University student David Dermer were winners in the 46th Annual Pro Football Hall of Fame Photo Contest.

Masturzo placed second in the feature category and Dermer placed third in the feature category. Suba won an honorable mention in the action category.

Former ONPA member Matt Detrich from the Indianpolis Star placed placed third in the action category. This was the third consecutive year Detrich has placed in the contest.

Mark Hoffman of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel was the winner of the Dave Boss Award of Excellence for his entry in the contest. His photo titled “Not Gonna Be Denied” was selected by the judges as the Photograph of the Year for the 2013 National Football League Season.

Judging this years contest were: Ben Liebenberg, Photo Editor/Lead Photographer, National Football League; John Reid, III, Team Photographer, Cleveland Browns; Bob Rosato Chief Operating Officer, USA TODAY Sports Images; Amy Sancetta, Associated Press Staff Photographer, and Tony Tomsic, a nationally acclaimed freelance photographer who has shot every Super Bowl to date.
