The Saginaw News, The Flint Journal, and The Bay City Times will no longer be on a daily print cycle and will publish only on Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays as of June 1. All three publications are owned by Advance Publications, who is also closing the Ann Arbor News. The newspaper will be replaced by a new online company AnnArbor.com, which will publish a print edition on Thursday and Sunday.

This news follows an earlier announcement that the Detroit News and Free Press will end home-delivery of the print editions on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays beginning March 31.

Outside the state of Michigan, Advance Publications’ Newhouse papers, which would include The Plain Dealer, have announced pay cuts and unpaid furloughs for non-union employees.
