The downturn in revenue which has let to cuts at many daily newspapers has now appeared to take its toll on two major weekly chains in Ohio.
In the Cleveland/Akron market Sun Newspapers said Friday it will eliminate half of its 22 editions and cut staffing. A Sun staffer said two of the four photo positions will be eliminated within 60 days.
Earlier this year the parent company of Suburban News Publications and The Other Paper in Columbus filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. A Columbus Business Journal story now says that the company’s assets are now to be sold.
