Visual journalists from The Columbus Dispatch and The Plain Dealer won 15 of the 20 awards in the 2009 ONPA Online Journalism contest as results were released by contest chairman Jonathan Quilter of The Columbus Dispatch.
Quilter picked up three wins in the online contest taking first and second place in Best News Audio Slideshow and also won second place in Best Sports Audio Slideshow. David Andersen of The Plain Dealer also had three wins, taking first and third in Best Feature Video. Andersen also won third place in Best Sports Video.

Last year the still judges concurred with the online judges and many of the single images from the online entires appeared on the winners list. If that holds true Columbus and Cleveland will again slug it out for the Staff of the Year award.
The still contest judging at the Akron Beacon Journal will be open Friday and Saturday. There will be a post mid-week with all the details for those wishing to attend. For those who can’t make it to Akron, the judging can be viewed online. There will be a link on the ONPA home page.
