Feature - HM - Frank Gibson, of Davey Tree, conducts minor pruning to the freshly planted 'Tree of Eternal Life' in Zoar’s Garden of Happiness. The previous tree came down in the Spring of 2023 as a result of a strong windstorm. That tree was ninety years old. Story - 1st place - Parents and students embrace outside the vestibule at Tuscarawas Valley Middle-High School in Zoarville after learning that three marching band members as well as a teacher, and two chaperones died in a fiery bus crash on Interstate 70, in Licking County – about an hour from the school. The crash was a multi-vehicle, chain reaction crash in which the students were on a charter bus, and the adults were traveling separately in a personal vehicle. (Andrew Dolph / The Times Reporter)
Story - 2nd place - Chris Aldrich of Toledo Aerial Media loads 150 rubber turkeys on to a drone for the Turkey Drop Fundraiser at the Wood County Museum in Bowling Green. The museum partnered with Toledo Aerial Media for a fun fundraising event in which participants could purchase a foam turkey for $50 each. A drone dropped 150 numbered foam turkeys in the lot.
