Spot News - 1st placeA driver talks on his cell phone as he waits to be rescued from his crashed car after striking a utility pole on South Bird Road. Rescue personnel were unable to remove the driver, who was not injured, from the car because the lines and transformer laying on top of the car still had power flowing through them.The driver was trapped for nearly a half hour while Ohio Edison crews cut the power and secured the pole. Spot News - 2nd placeColumbiana EMS paramedic Kelli Harding tends to 19-year-old April Fulcomer after an accident on state Route 517 east of Lisbon. Fulcomer and the driver, Leticia Lujan, 20, of Lisbon were transported to St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Youngstown. According to highway patrol trooper Mike Smith, the 2000 Ford Taurus was westbound at about 2:15 a.m., went off the left side of the road, up an embankment and into a wire pasture fence. The car flipped end over end and ended up on its roof. The two were able to get out of the car and made their way back to the road where they called for help, using a nearby railroad crossing sign to identify their location. Spot News - 3rd placeJerry Rohr is taken into custody by Canton police after a standoff on Broad Ave NW in Canton. Rohr was accused of shooting a man in a local barbershop the night before. Authorities surrounded the house and eventually had to break in the door to extricate Rohr by force. He was eventually taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries he suffered in the arrest.
