General News - HM - Lourdes Barroso de Padilla is a first generation American whose parents were born in Cuba. Because she was one of the first to go to college in her family, she and her family struggled to navigate the American education system. Now with two little girls in school, ages 3 and 6, she wants to give them the best education opportunities and make education enjoyable in their lives. Nur was attacked and beaten steps from his home about two months ago by a group of four men from outside of the neighborhood. The police were notified but no one was apprehended. Spot News - 3rd place - Thirty-year-old Amanda Carrigan of Wheeling, W.Va. was cited for OVI and assured clear distance after driving her 2001 Honda Civic into the back of a semi tractor-trailer on state Route 11. After refusing transport, Carrigan was given a field sobriety test by troopers Jodi Bolen and Brian Kavanagh at the scene and taken into custody where she was transported to the Lisbon Post for a urine test.
