August - 1st place general news - The Columbus firefighter Stephen Cox reveals the grave of Columbus firefighter Mark B. Newman during a ceremony at Greenlawn Cemetery in Columbus. On August 4, 1870, Newman was killed by a collapsing wall while assisting in fire suppression activities at the Columbus Woolen Factory. She graduated from Canal Winchester in 2017 and has now organized a petition that has been signed by 3,000 people to change the school's nickname which is Indians.
